nergy frock has an energy all its own. Some cal it spark; some call it pizazz, we col it an energy unmatched This quoity makes freck a very special school. No one aspect makes it this way. rather, there are many contributing factors. One of these is that Breck boosts a great variety of students. Where else could punks and preps, pinheads and airheads, jocks and couch potatoes be friends while still retaining the own definite panache? In the hails, shaved heads press close to pageboys as they share a Walkmon. Bifocals meet blank stares as they trade homework answers during long bus rides. Letter jackets argue over the TV Guide selection for Monday night with potatoes and are thrown out of the library for talking too loudly. The students ore not the only unique personalties in the school. Tim RosenfiekJ. Upper School history teacher, has claimed fame for his consistently unusual historical parallels: faculty meetings equalling Supreme Court deliberations, for example. Kim Jackson. Middle School science teacher. keeps the fish tonk in his room stocked with piranhas. He often feeds them during class to encourage good student behavior. The heod of the Lower School, Michoel Wilson, has been known to dress as a carrot for HoBoween idiosyncrasies aside, the teachers at freck are of he highest quality, and it is due to them that much recognition and aid has been given to Breck. For instance, due to Margaret Michoelson's excellent teaching of Chinese, freck won a sizable Dodge Foundation grant to encourage East Asian studies. (coot, pg 4)
