Weekend The second game cased for one person from each team to be blindfolded while their teammates tried to direct them solely by coded voice instruction to an orange pylon. The event was marked by hilarious scenes including Kim Jesse charging open-armed into a pine tree and Reverend Hanson flopping on the wet grass The next event was cased Bird of Paradise and involved strategic whistling. Exhilarated trains of blindfolded seniors led only by the sound of a lone whistler stumbled from one end of the footbai field to the bonfire pit. The main object, however. seemed to be avoiding a group bath in the lake. At the end of the activities the seniors stl retained more than enough energy for group discussions. In a rare occurrence, students talked honestly about the attributes of a good friend, the pressures of being a Breck senior. and the goals of the class. The campfire provided a good combination of highly charged competition and relaxing conversation as students sang together for hours, some even dance or acting. A series of activities highlighted the rest of the weekend. Games of volleyball, touch football, and swimming were constantly in progress. Yet, there was still time in the busy schedule to allow several tug-of-war matches, including an electrifying match between Steve Johnson and Katherine Bugby. At the end of the weekend the tired seniors piled gratefuly into the buses. This weekend gave the seniors a chance to initiate new friendships and to strengthen old ones. This chance to be together in a casual way led to an unmatcha-ble sense of class identity and a heightened esprit de corps. Senior Weekend 15

o n September 10, 1983 the senior class set off through the drizzle for senior weekend at Comp Courage, the irrepressible energy of the class of '84 overcoming the dreary weather. While impatiently awaiting their final destination, the students loughed and chatted on the buses. Once at Camp Courage, the vacationing students participated in traditional getting- to-know-one-another games. The groups plunged into the activities with spirit and zest. The first game called for frantic invention as teams of ten attempted to cross a field touching the ground with only five feet and five hands. Imaginative seniors struggled with hopping wheelbarrows and lurching piggybacked os two teams floundered over the finish line both claiming victory, (coot, oo the next pago) (1) Jortne Simmons retaxes whie the sertor doss gathers for group dscusstoos (2) Janot Greeotees.
