Their initial reaction to questions about boys and girls was to giggle. Jonathan said about girls. They’re just not a social insterest. Katie Wahlquist thinks boys are boring.” but not all responses were negative. A second grade girl loudly declared. I like them.” Robert Smith said that during recess the kids sometimes play boys catch girls . Kristin Eaton explained. A 3RD GRADE VIEW Third grade was really a lot of fun. according to Alex Hannah. Many things which might seem dumb and boring to an older student were things which made up the best part of a third grader's day. Gym class, a thing most students studiously try to avoid, was looked forward to by the third grade. Their small bodies hurled around the gym in an excess of energy, with all the fierce concentration of eight and nine year olds. Language Arts was one of Alex’s personal favorites. He liked the class, which was challenging and fun, and he also liked the teacher. Miss Page. Lunch was a welcome break in the day for busy third graders. Alex explained that with all the different things they did during the day. they really needed to relax.” These third graders were an integral part of the Lower School, bringing to it an air of energetic warmth.
