Bustang Homecoming '80 was, to quote an old phrase, the best ever. This year's Homecoming was very special because it was the last one to be held at the River Road campus. 'i..e Student Council started preparations long before their first meeting. Homecoming Week started with Senior Freshman Day, and was followed by Hats and Sunglasses Day, Hero Day, Clash Day, and Blue and Gold Day on Homecoming Day. Prizes were given for the best costumes on H and S Day, Hero Day, and Clash Day. Some of the more interesting costumes on Hero Day were Hermit the Frog. Helen of Troy, The Jolly Green Giant, Mr. Miller, Hawkeye and Klinger of M°A S H. Homecoming Day brought out the spirit in a lot of people. Almost everyone was wearing blue and gold. Lower and Middle Schoolers were invited to the Coronation ceremonies where Peter Tester and Maya Klashnya were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. The Pepfest in the gym was full of balloons, pom-poms that had been sold by the cheerleaders, and Middle and Upper Schoolers. The enthusiasm from the Pepfest carried over to the soccer game, and the football game. The Homecoming slogan which was, “When the Co-Stars fall from the sky, the Spartans will whither and die. , did not completely come true, as the football team lost to SPA, but the soccer team beat Holy Angels with a score of 3-2. The theme of dance was the sixties. Hip outfits and cosmic vibrations filled the dance floor as EVERYONE danced! All in all, it turned out to be a fantastic Homecoming. 13
