In the same way. you cheer us on. You believe in all of us; we can win. We appreciate your help when obstacles block our goal. You’re sensitive to the feelings of others, clapping and laughing for speakers when we are callous.cracking bad jokes to ease the tension. You go out of your way to contribute yourself to our needs. There is always a ready ear for our problems. You lend your office, phone, car toward our happiness. In any difficulty, we hear a voice by our sides: Is there anything I can do to help? Thank you. Reverend Smith.lt is for these reasons that the 1979 Mustang staff dedicated this yearbook to you. •DEDICATION Richard Smith The Reverend Richard Smith was involved with Breck for many years before becoming chaplain here. His daughters Sylvia and Emily attended the school since kindergarten. During that time. Rev Smith visited chapel periodically to give talks filled with humor. In the past three years that he has been chaplain. Rev. Smith has reintroduced a religious element to daily chapels. including a Tuesday biblical lesson. He has conducted morning Holy Communion services and an annual Blessing of the Animals. His easygoing ethics courses are discussed by all. In addition to his responsibilities at Breck. Rev Smith conducts Sunday church services and is a police chaplain. That's a heavy load of human troubles to take care of. but Rev Smith handles it very well Mi- wW Xl John C.
