A CJ y Breck School 4200 West River Road, Minneapolis, Minnesota DEDICATION 2 The 1978 Yearbook Staff is proud to dedicate this Mustang to one of Breck’s favorite people. Mrs. Betty Hancock. Mrs. Hancock's association with Breck began years ago when her son, David, was a student and her daughter, Mrs. Merriman. was a teacher at Breck. In addition, Mrs. Hancock presented chapel programs in her native Welsh costumes. She was especially good at this since she has had extensive training in theatre. When Mrs. Hancock began teaching religious studies at Breck her warm, confidant and radiant personality was immediately perceived by everyone. Today her smiling face is always a welcome sight to anyone who needs comforting, encouragement, or a friend. We wish Mrs. Hancock the best of luck in the future, and hope that she will continue her association with Breck for many more years to come. 3 CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION FACULTY SENIORS UPPER SCHOOL MIDDLE SCHOOL LOWER SCHOOL GROUPS SPORTS STUDENT LIFE ADVERTISING 4 6 7 Dick Smith Chaplain Loraine Mesken Guidance Earl Hovland Director of Alumni Michael Uram Admin. We feel that Ms. Fruen has demonstrated great dedication to Breck School, to her teaching, and especially to her students. Her classes are challenging, but exciting, and enhanced by her excellent sense of humor. When problems arise Ms. Fruen is always available for extra help. The AFS Carnival and the Mustang could not have been successful without her enthusiastic support. She is also a good friend. Thank you Ms. Fruen, and GOOD LUCK in the future! Love, the Seniors P.S. May you never miss Hogan’s Heroes again! Mr. Taaffe has taught history to both seventh and eighth graders and to upper schoolers for eight years at Breck. He has also been the adviser for the social services at Sheltering Arms and at Michael Dowling. Mr. Taaffe also led a group of students to the Soviet Union during May, 1976.
