Volleyball Takes 2nd In District Wil A , J J f a x ' ifit 5 ,. Q The varsity volleyball team finished district with a 12-6 sea- tif W son record. Nancy Norsworthy, Danette Ayers , and Bonnie 1 Broaddus were among top offensive players, while Rhonda y 'T' b,t s ' Fleming and Norsworthy led the defense. Managers were Senior if up M jennifer Taylor, junior Melanie Bottlinger, and Sophomore Te- s T 2 ,J- resa Price. The trainer was Marion Skewes. ppaig fs ll : Among the outstanding players was Pam Tatum, Broaddus , and Norsworthy who all made the All-District team. In the district playoffs , Brazoswood played El Campo and Lamar twice each and had a 2-2 record. The girls played in tournaments at Santa 't'Q Fe, where they received a first place trophy, San Jacinto Col- lege, and Mt. Carmel. ,p The jayvee volleyball team won eight games and lost three 'N during the season. The attended tournaments at Santa Fe, Al- vin, and Friendswood Where they placed second. Coach for both varsity and jayvees was Linda Turek. The freshman volleyball team Won nine games and lost nine during the year. Linda Palmer coached the freshman team. The girls felt that she did a fine job and unified the team. Palmer felt she had a fine group of young ladies .
