Spring was a season of elections for cheer- leaders, Student Council, and superlatives. The first election students participated in was the electing of cheerleaders. Over 16 girls tried out, and although all the students performed their routines, only eight could win. The day be- fore the election, girls were scored by a panel of judges on how high they jump, how loud they were, memorization, appearance, and poise. The following girls were picked for cheer- leaders for 1979-80. They were Rhonda Pyeatt, Debbie Miller, Ceci Schuman, jean Mardis, Lori Meaders, Amy Ripley, Vicki Witcher, and Laura Moran. During and before the student council elec- tions, students saw signs saying Let's start a riot, vote Allen and Pyeatt, and others saying Don't Mickey Mouse Around, vote Ken and Da- vid. Students went to the library mall and voted during English classes. Each class also elected 10 representatives to the Student Council. Four officers were elected. 1979-80 officers of the Student Council were: President Kenneth Golden, Vice-president David Bonorden, Secretary Nona McWilliams and Treasurer Anne Wicker. The superlatives were the elections of class clown, best dancer, ect. The students were kept in suspense until the superlative show, where the winners were announced. Cl.,-J' if ' . 5, X fa K.,
