Choir, Orchestra Present joint Concert ff If ' 1 A The musical organizations of Brazos- wood were very busy in the fall. The orchestra gave a concert in the audito- rium in preparation for their joint con- cert with the choir. Later that month, the combined A Cappella Choir, B Choir, and girls' choir gave a concert. The choir sang The Promise of Liv- ing, Stomp your foot, and a 15 minute Work by Verdi called Te Deum. The A Cappella choir also gave a Christmas concert and a student as- sembly the next day during the study halls . The Brazoswood Stage Band par- ticipated in The Brazosport jazz Fes- tival. The marching band provided Pre-game, Post-game, and half-time performances at the Astrodome for the Houston Oilers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers football game. On January 13, the band performed a concert in the auditorium after their annual Irish Stew Supper. W,-V

Assemblies Start School Year CH Right The first assembly of the year was the A freshman and new students orientation. The students were told the rules and general way of life at Brazoswood. The juniors held two assernbliesg one to organize the selling of cards for the Prom, and a senior ring assem- bly. Representatives from the Balfour Com- pany distributed pamphlets for the rings, and the juniors then chose the design, color of stone, size, and metal they wanted. Seniors had an assembly for their graduation invita- tions by the Balfour Company. For Christmas 1 the SQ:-udent Council sponsored a cartoon as- sembly during fourth period. Students espe- cially enjoyed this since they could escape fourth period for only 25 cents. The Sam Houston State University Symphonic Band came to Brazoswood in january and played in the auditorium for band members. al Carol Gray hands programs to students entering a choir concert. by Nancy johnson, Kim Gentzel, Kerry Esmond, Andy Efird, Stuart Royalty, Terry Loftus, Charles Ashley, and Kyle Young gather for one of the years few assemblies.
