The cheerleaders cheered, the Belles and the twirlers performed, the students yelled. This year there was something new at the pep rallies: the band's new Flag Line. There were contests, too, such as decorating a classes' section of the bleachers , or the Latin club spirit link contest between the classes , or seeing which grade could outyell the other in their class cheer. There was poor attendance at the first pep rallies, but, as the season progressed and the Bucs started their winning streak, participation picked up. Sophomores and freshmen had the highest attendance at the rallies.. For some new students a Buc pep rally was a new experience. Donna Waldron, who moved from Michigan, said, There was a lot more student participation at Brazoswood at the pep rallies than at my old school. aj Benny Dunn laughs as he receives the honor of Captain for the Homecoming game. bl Playing at the Booster Clixb Pep rally areg members of the Buc band. cl juniors Tracie Woods, Brenda Branford, Perry Edgar, Ruth Harper, Robin Vaughn, Dana Willingham, Cindy Waples, and Tom Loftus cheer at a pep rally. dj Amy Ripley and Denise Dolezal cheer at a Booster club pep rally. ej The varsity football team is introduced at the first pep rally.
