Although the ceremony for the Class of '79 differed little from pre- vious years, it was still special to the 427 seniors receiving their diplo- mas. Graduation was at Hopper Field. Earlier in the day seniors met there to practice marching in to Pomp and Circumstance. Honor graduates learned their rank at this rehearsal. Although seniors were ca- sual at practice, most took the actual graduation seriously. After listening to class speakers Don Ripple and Theresa Stroud, graduates finally re- ceived the long-awaited diplomas . There were several minutes of cap throwing, cheering, and a few tears before seniors left the stadium to at- tend graduation parties and celebra- tions. After four long years , they had finally made it. 233

Band members are Tracie Woods, janet McKeever, Kathy Kleypas, jill Patton, Christine Nickamp, Lisa Johnston, Susan Breeden, Kathy Preston, Wanda Drapella, Gioia Grosso, and Robin Barkemeyer.
