Class assignments today are unique and interesting. ln the Home and Family classes mock weddings were held. A bride, groom, min- ister, bridesmaids, and groomsmen were selected . Rehearsals were held the day before, and finally the big day rolled around with everyone dressed up for this special occasion. During the study of child raising in Home and Family, students choose egg babies to care for as real children for a week. The teachers hard- boiled dozens of eggs and dyed them pink for girls , blue for boys, and yellow for adopted ones. The students drew faces for the eggs and provided a safe carrier for them. These were carried around for a week as the students tried to prevent getting them cracked or even kidnapped, as some were. If their egg babies were da- maged, the responsible par- ent was charged with child abuse or neglect. In the sociology classes tests were held for seeing how well one could identify objects while blindfolded. Also, taste tests were con- ducted to tell if one could identify various foods by their taste instead of looking at them. C
