Students Learn From Freld Trips Learning took place in other places than just classrooms as most students were happy to find when they took field trips. Seeing things as they exist in the work world was the basis for trips by science classes to places such as Dow Chemical Company plants and industrial arts as they visit local craftsmen and corpora- tions in Brazoria County. Language classes visited cultural sites such as mu- seums and performances of dance and dramatics in Houston. Often included were visits to specialty shops or restau- rants of that particular language such as French Club's visit to a French bakery. Some classes took trips as part of perfor- mances such as band, choir, and orches- tra tours and pantomine groups. XIII:-T-f 3- A ,1 .

Class Projects Set The Pace Throughout the school year students are constantly getting assignments , but for the student who is not in an art or shop class of some .sort projects are not as- signed very often. Projects come in many styles . Glazed bowls, ashtrays, and jars are all part of ceramics class . In one American History class students did a study on the United States Constitution. The music classes, choir, band, orchestra, and music the- ory, also do class projects. The projects included concerts, solos, and produc- tions. Students often complain about doing spe- cial projects but many students were glad to do them in place of tests. Besides, as one student said, They help your grade.
