Her merit awards were in American and World History and English II . ,Ku Lori was a member of the Brazoswood team to the Bee County College so- 1 cial science contests and won second place in American History individ- ually. She earned a third place in the district level national Spanish exam. 1 , Marty Merritt was three-year member of All-state orchestra . He was string bass section leader two years. He was a two-year symphonic band member placing All-district, region, and area. He was a three-year member of stage band and All-region jazz ensem- ble . He was in All-star band at Wharton junior College Contest. Marty won third place in state, region and district UIL ready writ- ing. He was a two-year debater winning third in district and first at the Brazosport Tournament twice. He was a member of the Chemistry Club, National Honor Society, and received seven merit awards.
