Students Receive Scholarships, Merits The 1978-79 Awards night began with the awarding of a total of 37 scholarships to seniors, and ended with announcing of the years' valedictorian, Karen Stewart, and salutatorian, Trudy Heimbigner. In- cluded in the forum was the perfect attendance rec- ognition with Donna Jones receiving a 5 year award and Denise Brown, Kelly Lamb, and Martin Merritt receiving five merit awards each. For the first time in Brazoswood history all six semi-finalists were chosen as finalists. These six sen- iors were Keith Acuff, Mindy Keith Acuff Stephen Hazelton Brock, Stephen Hazleton, Trudy Heimbigner, Steve Lamb, and Jeff Whitaker.
