Debate, Drama Takes Honors Debaters won first, second, and third place in seven tournaments for one of their most successful years . At Bay City Sherryl Colley and jill Patton Won second place. At Brazosport College they were second again, and Marty Mer- ritt and Keith Acuff won first placeg David Kremmer and Kenneth Schulte were first at E1 Campo. Patton and Colley were also third at Katy. The team of Merritt and Acuff was third at Port Lavaca, and they qualified for the regional UIL meet by taking third at the district 25-AAAA meet at Brazoswood. It was estimated that about ten hours a week was put into actual competition and practice. The Drama Club started off by produc- ing a three act play, the Hobbitt. Jill Pat- ton played the part of the hobbitt, Perry Edgar the wizard, and Dale Hulsopple played the part of Thorine. They also produced a one-act play, called Many Moons . In addition they have performed at elementary schools, the li- brary for children's hour, and at the mall. They were also in six tournaments. B W
