The highlight of the junior Engineering Technogical Society club's year was the re- ceiving of Texas AGM scholarships by johnita Davis, Steve Lamb, and Louis Waguespack. Oth- er activities were a tour of the Dow Chemical Hydrocarbon plantg a chemical engineering talk by Ron Dipprey, engineer adviser to JETS chapterg a biome- dical engineering lec- ture by james Iunking and the receiving of a chapter from Principal H. E. Marcum. Officers for the year were president Steve Hazelton, vice-presi- dent johnita Davis , treasurer Olivia Hanna, and secretary Renai Knight. Sponsor for the year was Ed Brown. At their regular Tues- day night meetings , Chemistry club mem- bers did such projects as making steel and set- ting off gun power as well as more traditional experiments into the field of chemistry. The clubs purpose was to allow those with a real interest to develop it in work not normally performed in regular chemistry classroom or lab situations.
