Preparation, Practices, Performances The Buccaneer Belles drill team spent the year performing for the public and the long hours necessary in preparation for the performances . The fall meant football season and halftime shows at Buccaneer football games , cheering the team on to victory, and pep rallies. Behind all of that was morning, first period, and afternoon rehearsals. Afternoons were most often three days weekly with the band, but was stretched to another day if needed. Gne highlight of the halftime performances was the light show done with the band, a popular tradition at Hopper Field. Winter meant appearances at Buccaneer basket- ball games and the winter dance, a Belle and school tradition. ln the spring, the Spring Show showcased Belle talent at dancing and stage entertainment. Tryouts for new members and for officers filled out the year up to the fashion show, moth- er-daughter banquet, and tea for Belles held in May. S' gg, .
