Band Council Plans For Success During the marching season, a larger twirling line lead the band. The twirlers practiced almost every Monday morning, learning the new marching V routine for that week. Terry Jones , head twirl- er, taught many routines. Many days after school, the girls had to have extra practices to make the rou- tine perfect. The Band Council planned many activities for the band. Deckhands Add Spirit The Deckhands not only painted signs but brought spirit to the entire school with their activities . They met every day during football season to draw and paint signs for the football players, lockers, their buses, the varsity room, for the fences at the game, and the gi- ant run-through signs. They also made signs for the Foot- ball Banquet and other athletic programs . Officers for the 78- 79 school year for the Deck- hands Club were president, ju- lie Nichollg vice-president, Kathy Pickleg Secretary, Kim johseg Treasurer, Mary White, Artist, Karen Patureaug and junior Chairperson, ,Kim Col- lier and Kay Colvin.
