The Spanish club year was filled with parties , field- trips , and fund raising ac- tivities. ln March sponsor Herbert Torres and mem- bers of the club went to San Antonio for the Spanish Con- vention. There Marlene Gu- tierrez served as second vice-president of the Pan- American Student Forum and won statewide recognition for herself and Brazoswood. A trip was also taken to Houston to see the National Folkloric Ballet. Carnation sales for Valentines Day and Christmas, bake sales, pic- nics, and a Christmas and end of the year party were all part of the club's activi- ties.
