Auto mechanics Besides learning the mechanical com- position of an auto, the 36 auto mec- hanic students studied the electronic and diagnostic techniques as well. Last year, this VICA Chapter 175 was named the outstanding club in the state. This was even more out- standing because the club wasnat formed until last year. Next year, the first BHS auto mechanic to gradu- ate from technical school will go to work for General Motors in Michigan at a nice salary. Another fact that is of great benefit to the course is that the local garage owners work closely with the school so that better mechan- ics may be produced. 5 2 ns? S Mechanical repair This mechanical and marine repair course consisted of 22 boys this year. Along with their academic studies, they mastered skills in small boat hull and engine work. They learned the practical skills involved in such things as tire repair, welding, and small engine work. One specific concentration of learning was in fiber glass work.
