Auto mechanics Besides learning the mechanical com- position of an auto, the 36 auto mec- hanic students studied the electronic and diagnostic techniques as well. Last year, this VICA Chapter 175 was named the outstanding club in the state. This was even more out- standing because the club wasnat formed until last year. Next year, the first BHS auto mechanic to gradu- ate from technical school will go to work for General Motors in Michigan at a nice salary. Another fact that is of great benefit to the course is that the local garage owners work closely with the school so that better mechan- ics may be produced. Welding Arc gas, heli-are, hand torch cutting, and sand blasting were just some of the skills learned this year by vocation- al welders. The final total of young men taking the course was 2l. The future can hold much for those stu- dents who want to put their welding experience to good use. This training which is supplied at great cost enables some to attend ajunior college and take welding technician eourses. Those who work hard can make fine careers for themselves.
