Art Welcomed changes for the Art Depart- ment this year were more space and new equipment which allowed great expansion to the program. The equip- ment additions ineluded a press, an air brush, and silk screen paraphernalia. Drawing, painting and design were the main points stressed in the curriculum. Amateur art students sold samples of their work at a weekly flea market in Freeport, and the department had six County Fair winners. Other activities included entering the Spring Art Festi- val in Houston, and an art show and poster contest sponsored hy the local Art League. Art students also did hack drops and posters for the Music and Drama Department presentations. 38-ACADEMICS
