On February 23rd, 22 seniors and 6 sponsors departed for the 1981 Civics trip to Washington D.C. The trip took us about 32 hours to get there. When we arrived in Washington D.C., we enjoyed visiting the Archives Building and the night tour of the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. During the rest of the trip, we toured the White House, the Capitol, the Smithsonian Institute, Arlington National Cemetery, the Washington Monument the tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other interesting sights. Wednesday night we enjoyed supper at Lazy Susan s Dinner Theatre and enjoyed a play called I DO I DO . Upon returning to the motel some students enjoyed a disco at the Falls Church Inn where many laughs took place. We will always cherish the memories we shared on the 1981 Civics trip to Washington Poker? .
