Brazil High School can be proud of the job its Student Council has done. Their first project was the traditional collection of Thanksgiving baskets for delivery to needy families. The Student Council enlightened the B. H. S. Christmas season by having a beautifully decorated tree in the front hall and playing gay Christmas music each noon hour. Two successful dances were given by the Council this year -- one at New Year's and the other, the annual Sweetheart Dance. Both the Jr. and Sr. Red Cross Drives were aided by the Student Council. Heart Sunday was a success in Clay County partially through the efforts of the Council members. These main projects and many more behind the scenes have summarized a profitable year for both the Council and Brazil High School, The students enjoy dancing at the Jerry Webster CIOWHS Our Sw6CI- The Sweetheart and her Cam Sweetheart Dance. heart Susie Mershon. paign start the Sweetheart Dance We W We help Mrs. Hendrickson in the 1 library. The girls were busy doing things to- gether, having fun, and working hard. To start the season the girls sold apples for a dime at the Crawfordsville football game and after the game they had a big dance at the Y. for all of the kids. At the home football games our girls became parking lot attendants, They parked cars for only a quarter while the people went to watch the Red Devils. Then came the Halloween party. It was fun, free, open to the public, but only five couples came. They divided up the loot since there was nothing else Bucket Hop. This was after the thrilling Clinton game when Brazil and Clinton tied Then in honor of our team's fine season the girls qsince the way to a man's heart is through his stomachj decided to feed the team. Everything went fine, until Patty Grayson dropped a whole tray of bowls of green beans on the floor. Those football players ate so much too, that the cooks were frantic, It was finished in due time and the girls received several compliments. As another service to the football team and the school the girls mended football practice jerse s at their meetin s What a - Y S ' thing to have to sew up! Many of the jerseys were in half, without a sleeve to do and left with apples, cider, doughnuts, and prizes. Next in line was the Coal , or just was our shredded. Well, the girls worked hard and did a fine job on the shirts. Next second annual carnival with fun for all, -- fortune tellers, basketball throws, a jail, raffles, etc. All the people had fun. The girls ended their season with a Senior banquet for themselves at Old Trails lnn. A crowning touch for a wonderful year.
