Coach Jones encourages Mike Skarbek i322 to go back and hustle at the Gallatin game. The Bobcat football team did not enjoy one of their best years, but they did experience some success. Lacking in the number of players, the team worked hard and played very competi- tive football. The Bob- cats put up a stiff de- fense all season long. With a break or two, they could have fin- ished with a winning' record. They did beat Orrick and Lone Jack to finish fifth in the CRC conference. The Bobcats had an up and down year in 1985-86. Starting off the season the Ca ts took 2 tough losses before winning 3 out of their next four games. Included was a second place finish in the CRC tournament, held at Wentworth. From there, the Ca ts struggled over the next sever- al games as their inexperience and youth showed against the more expe- rienced foes. Following the Bra ymer tourna- ment, the Cats jelled and won 7 out of their next ll games to show area squads that they could be a power next year as all five starters will return.
