Along with the new classmates, they welcomed their sponsor Mrs. fWeiszj Franklin. The Eighth Graders took second place with their float entry. Their theme was Can the Cadets. Other activities the eighth graders were a part of were the Sweetheart Dance, in which Cindy Goodsell represented the classy and Becky Montgomery received recognition for the most creative baby egg in the FHA baby egg contest. To top off the year, the eighth grade history class went to Jefferson City to tour the Capitol.
