Having turned the corner and en- tered the downhill stretch to the 2ist century, the Winds of Change were at the backs ofthe B.U.H.S. Wildcats. Never would ole B.U.H,S. look the same. The Junior College Building underwent the first stage of re- modeling and the Spirit Center took on a new look and position as well. With this new look, the Wildcats felt better about them- selves and this was reflected- in the many honors, awards and successes achieved by them in academics, athletics, and activi- ties. Realizing that so often traditions of yesteryear fail to be effective- ly promoting growth, the A.S.B. took bold and courageous steps to recognize the major focus of Brawley Union High School - ex- cellence in academics. Be they subtle or bold, completed or on- going, those changes marked a new life and direction as the Brawley Wildcats marched to- ward the new frontier of the 21st century proudly waving blue and gold banners of courage and ex- cellence.
