Mr. Don Biagi, Jesse Perez. and Teresa Lepe A thought provoking idea emerged into Imperial Valley Geography From the Sky. What can I contribute to the students of Brawley Union High School, I asked myself. Why not fly my students and learn geography? Six months of working on questions. receiving yes and no answers, doing research, obtaining airplanes? I fi- nally found myself with ten students in the air over Imperial Valley. On December 5, I986, the course received the Golden Bell Award for educational excellence for which the California School Board Association recognized Brawley Union High School. This year concluded our fourth year of our flying classroom and a total of sixty-five students, of which seventeen are in the Class of l987, partici- pated. I will continue to find ways to give my students new educational and unique experiences. Mr. Don Biagi Instructor Below. Paul Laney jots down notes about everything he learned from the trip Below.
