Half And Half Season For Varsit Footba Jason Pope and one of his teammates slammed a Notre Dame player to the ground. Theron Hopkins sets his troops up for a big play. Theron passed for over 990 yards this and ran for 300 yards. Our Wildcats were the main attraction at this pep rally. They were always supported by whole school in games and in everything they did. The Brawley team was known for defense fbelowj. They were always aggressive. The Wildcat defense gave up a total of unanswered points in league play. Johnny Santa sprints for a 1st down. Johnny always sacrificed it all for that extra yard. He ran for about 500 yards this season. The Brawley Wildcats had a very up and down 1984 season. They put up a hard fight in all their games, but two in particular will stand out in remembering this year's season. In the last seconds of both the Indio and the Central Bell Game, the Wildcats were defeated by very close margins. Many considered these wins for the opposition just good luck being on the wrong side of the field. In all of their pre-season and league games, the Wildcats out-played every team they facedg however, sometimes the Cats just had some rough luck. Four members of the team were placed on the all- league team: Theron Hopkins, quarterbackg Victor Quinones, defensive back: Deven Owen, offensive tackleg and Paul Esquivel, who made it on both the offensive and defensive teams at the positions of defensive end and tight end. All of these athletes are Senior men. The other graduating Wildcats are: Ju- . nior Fangon, Manuel Barra, B.C. Roque, Todd Hos- kins, Mark Shapiro, Tyler Brant, Rudy Vallarta, Frank Aguilera, Jose Moya, T.J. Gardner, Jim James, John Gutierrez and Martin Garcia. s Junior Fangon gets piled up after receiving a pass. Junior was one of Brawley's leading receivers this year. 76 Football
