Accompanied by the auxiliary corps of flags and shields, the band proved to be a welcome addition to football games and pep rallies. The size of the band was reduced this year by new requirements for sopho- mores, but that did not deter the spirit and determination of this musical group. Besides performing in numerous halftime shows, pep rallies, and parades, the band was invited to participate in the Holiday Bowl festivities in San Diego in De- cember, for many members a high- light of the year. Top left, Frances Corpuz, Marlene Orsino, Dawn Can- ada and Frances Garcia did a rou- tine for a halftime show. Top right, the band joined them, along with the shields Qmiddlej. Bottom right, the band spent a lot of time practic- ing before school to perfect their halftime and marching capabilities. This combination of four boys and seven girls practiced long and hard during 5th period for their performances.
