Special Ed describes a variety of ser- vices available to students at BUHS who are in need of special help to succeed in their studies. Mr. Glenn Sarot is the director of Special Ed, and the teachers are Miss Ronette Gray, Ms. Sue Dobbs, Mrs. Valerie Deyo, and Mr. Mike Romero. They helped their charges understand course content and to be disciplined enough to turn in work consistently, among other things. Kirsten and Kim Savrey confer and compare notes. 48 Cycling Club Above: Mr. Miekka gives instruction on cycling club activities, Cy- cling club is made up of a group of energetic students who like to do things outside of school. Mr. Miekka, their instructor, is a highly active person who enjoys riding and can often be seen riding his ten- speed. The Cycling Club often takes trips on their bikes and are a very active club.

B.U.H.S. Wins With 88 Units The lmperial Valley Bloodmobile has been vis- iting BUHS for many years now. This year we had a very successful donation period. 31921 of the senior class donated blood. We have com- peted with El Centro ever since the donations started. We have beaten them every year. Com- peting against El Centro makes the outcome of the blood drive more interesting since everyone donates to try to beat El Centro. This year's winner among large Valley high schools was BUHS once again, with 88 pints of blood donat- ed. We hope that more people will donate blood to help save more lives in'the future. The blood that was donated this year has already helped many patients who needed blood and blood products.
