Scholars Showed Leadership In Extra- Barbara Jack, Nancy Dickerson, Stephanie Fleming, and Jaki Fleming were common sights at the Wildcat Pep rallies and games, Barbara, a sangleader, was also active as senior class secretary this year, Nancy, also a songleader, spent her summer in England as an A.F.S. exchange student. Stevie served as head songleader and was chosen Homecom- ing queen. Jaki, a varsity cheerleader, was active in many clubs and was a Homecoming princess. Kathy Brownell, Carolyn Guthrie, Susan Valenzuela, and Barbara Jefferson were often active in dramatic productions in one way or another. Kathy was the student director of the iunior and senior plays and was also active as president of S club. Carolyn worked as a prompter for the senior play and was active in the foreign language department. Susan helped with the gathering of props for the play and was active in many clubs on cam- pus. Barbara held a starring role in the sen- ior play and was a Girl's State representative as well as secretary for the A,S,B. f x Joy Jordan, Wayne Olesh, and Mary Smith were active on the tennis teams. Joy is remembered for her outstanding performance in the Senior play and her many awards received in various horseshows around the state. Wayne spent his busy senior year as co-editor of the annual, as well as following a strong academic program. Mary was an- active member of Drill Team for two years as well as sewing on the annual staff

It all the awards achievements ot these students totaled, the list would include a vast array of honors and interests from more fields than one would imagine. All of these students, how- ever, have some things in common, including high scholastic records, good teacher-student relations, and most of all, an overwhelming desire to learn. This desire is reflected in the attitude of these students toward the qualities ot leadership, scholar- ship, character, and service. These students, who plan to study in such fields as biology, engineering, fine arts, and elementary education, all agree on the importance of these qualities in life,
