The Southwest Has Become The immortal saying, Go west, young man, go west, has been the advice taken by Californians. The United States, once the melting pot of the world, now has the South- west as the melting pot of the United States. The product of this melting is the unique personage of the southwest, the Californian. These people are filled with determination and initiative, the spirit of the Southwest. This year the school is centered around spiritp the spirit of the land and of the people. Spirit of the land is the unique diversification of southern California, in the desert and the mountains, only minutes apart. The spirit of the people is what we have at Brawley Union High School, To this we dedicate the 1967-T968 La Ocotilla. The Junior College building shows a touch ofthe Southwest, 3 . 1 Sf- .
