As the Mexican border is so near to us in the Imperial Valley, many students wish to learn about Mexico and to speak Spanish so that they can communicate with our neighbors to the South. Brawley High has met this de- mand by employing a number of excellent Spanish teachers. However, Spanish isn't the only language that our school offers. There is also two years of French and Latin for the students interested in European languages. This year the main addition to the foreign language department was the remodeling of the language lab in room 21. The students are able to tape their voices and listen to their mistakes immediately afterward by using the built-in tape-recorders in every booth.

Mathematics, the tool of science, is being taught at an increasingly higher level to keep with today's modern science.
