N. ,LX l J' ,l 'If ry-Q L..':.2: ' Have you heard the one about the traveling salesman and the farmer's daughter? iThe coaches and their wives at the Quarterback Banquetl Supporting our fighting Wildcats through- out the season, the Quarterback Club held a Meet the Wildcats dinner, where the boosters of the team were invited to come and meet the individual players on the squad, and held their annual Quarterback Banquet with special guest speaker, Eddie LeBaron. Awards were given to individuals whose performance on the field as well as in the classroom were outstanding. But to the players the most important and exciting part of the banquet was the time when each player stepped up and received his gold football, The football that symbo- lizes victory for Brawley's Golden Horde. Brawleg High's Winningest Team! an Ty, - a 'aw 'EJ Tap Row: Coach Bob Fisher, Robert Allen, Alex Mucino, Randy VonOrsdeI, William Bascus, Paul O'Brien. Bothm Row: Torn Cato, Henry Romero, Robert Dorsey, Donnie Howard, Javar Ha-ymore. With a seasonal record of 2O wins and only 2 losses this year, the Wild- cat basketeers brought home an I.V.L. Championship. This years bas- ketball team was the winningest team ever in the history of B.U.l-l.S. Led by big Willie Bascus, who scored aver 440 points for a 21 point aver- age, and Randy VanOrsdel, who scored 316 points, for a 15 point average, the Wildcats outclassed all Valley opponents. Brawley's only losses were to strong Granite Hills, 61-44, and Or- ange Glen, 53-51. Our Cats outscored their league opponents 946-688, showing their superior ability over league rivals, After their regular season ended, the Wildcats challenged Yucaipa in the first round of C.I.F., defeating them 72-78. This year's team, dominated by seniors who have played together for the last four years, under Coach Bob Fisher, ended their careers in the same fashion they started it- in victory.
