They also began a tutoring service for those who didn't progress as easy as others. With teachers' recommendations, qualified students were given the chance to aid these students. The 1967- 68 officers were: Rick Titsworth, president, Mike Cox, vice- presiolent, Joy Jordan, secretary, Mary Smith, treasurer, Rosemary Ferrin, historian, and Alice Horton, the student council representative. Second row: Ruben This year, the Brawley Union High School Band has been as active as in past years, but didn't receive the recognition they deserved. lt is still putting out fine music, and it is still learning new patterns and new songs to go with them. These songs were first heard by the students in the pep assemblies, and were re- ceived with much gratification on the part of the students. These were re- ceived this way because the students needed something new and refresh- ing to be presented before the as- semblies, and the band presented it, Among the special arrangements was a bright, happy version of Georgy Girl , a suspenseful form of Fever , and a rollicking, foot- stomping translation of The Battle of Jericho .
