ping and bending your body out ої shape, getting upset over injured players, and losing your voice. It’s a sport that depends not only on the cheerleaders as a unit but on the participation of the student body as a whole. The 1972-1973 squads made a special effort to cheer for all home soccer matches, and attend other scholastic activities, as well as cheering at all the football games. The cheerleaders pro- vided apples for the players after each game. At the end of the fall season the varsity cheerleaders decorated for and attended the Fall Sports Banquet. The two squads, along with their new advisor, Miss Becker, held a clinic in November for girls interested in trying out for cheerleading in the Spring. — “+ 15

The 1972 Cross Country Team opened their season with three straight wins and finished with a record of 3-4-0. The team placed fourth in leagues at Bel- lows Falls, Springfield, Windsor, and Brattleboro, and 14th at the State Meet in Burlington. — егей .... an { і i КИН iti 1 A Y Ug CU The 1972 Varsity Field Hockey Team, coached by Miss Jondro and co-captained by Vicki Leclaire and Sarah Dewitt, experienced a very successful season of four wins, two losses, and three tie games. A young Junior Varsity Team, co-captained by Pam Allen and Karen Tkaczyk, finished their sea- son with a 1-5-3 record. Under the coaching of Mrs. Minott, the team proved to be defensively strong, holding all their opponents to no more than three goals.
