They practice long hours, four days a week, with meets every Tuesday. They run for grueling hours on the football field without the benefit of the right equipment or a regulation track. The girls are only allowed to enter three events and specifically train in three areas. All but one girl is returning from last years team, and they predict a good chance at being first. At the City Championship last year many girls placed, with L.G. Bass catching a gold medal. The girls even tackled a try at the hurdles. This year with practice they hope to do better in that event.
