They practice long hours, four days a week, with meets every Tuesday. They run for grueling hours on the football field without the benefit of the right equipment or a regulation track. The girls are only allowed to enter three events and specifically train in three areas. All but one girl is returning from last years team, and they predict a good chance at being first. At the City Championship last year many girls placed, with L.G. Bass catching a gold medal. The girls even tackled a try at the hurdles. This year with practice they hope to do better in that event. This year's City Championship is to be held May 2, and the girls plan to have a great year. 76 M Top left Nancy Armstrong Top right Karen Crowley Middle left: Marlo Miller Middle right: Deb- bie Saunders Bottom left: Patty Tallon These girls were happy with their performance that day.
