Di- Perna. eznnli c f he Bullets started the 1982 football sea- son with nowhere to go but up. Last year was disappointing with a 4-3-I re- cord. Also, Coach jim Thompson resigned due to family responsibilities and Ron Wabby be- came the new head coach. The season began with an exhibition game against Mt. Lebanon. Although the Bullets outplayed the Blue Devils, the final score was 7-6, giving Mt. Lebanon the victory. This didn't discourage the Bullets, since they went on to defeat Perry in the regular season opener. This was only the beginning of a highly successful season. They went on to defeat six other teams in a row, which guaranteed them a position in the City League championship game. Their final season game was played against the Westinghouse Bulldogs. This gave the Bullets their only loss of the season. They didn't let this loss bring down their attitudes - they prepared for the championship fired up and ready to again take on the Bulldogs. This time the stakes were much higher. During the game, the Brashear defense and offense proved effec- tive, they downed the Bulldogs and took the title they had in ,79 and '8o. This year brought city- wide recognition to the talents of many Brashear players, as well as Coach Wabby, who was named City League Coach of the Year. Frank Slinger was named City League Player of the Year. Other Bullets who were named to the All-City team include Milton Redwine, Pat Capatolla, Wendell Miller and Lou DiCella. Thanks for a great season, Bullets!

Even the losses were exciting because no one is a loser at Brashear. The thrill of com- peting and the pride of representing their school is enough for most people. Even teachers get involved with the action around Brashear as coaches and supporters of athletic events. So, if your tastes range from football to ping pong, get involved or just sit on the sidelines and cheer on your favorite team. SI
