TODAY'S USA . . . Out goes Haig. In comes Shultz! The Nation gets physical with Olivia Newton John! Jimmy Carter faces up to the Middle East Episodes. COCAINE! Cocaine is seen everywhere from sports to actors. It was the cause of actor-comedian john Belushi's death. It's seen at work, school, and places of entertainment. It destroyed auto tycoon De Lor- ean who was smuggling cocaine illegally. Will the war against drugs ever end? It probably never will because there is continuous demand for it. The drug industry is high class and high priced. AMERICA GETS THE GREAT NGSTALGIA KICK! From Rock Around the Clock to the Pepper- mint Twist people are seen dressing, singing, and dancing to the relic past. Shows like Tales of the Gold Monkey and movies like Chariots of Fire depict past decades that are being seen more and more. The people must be telling us that things of the past are worth incorporating in today's world. CYANIDE FOUND IN EXTRA STRENGTH TYLENCPL: SEVEN REPDRTED DEAD. NFC and AFC Football Teams go on strike. Video Games: They are bleeping the Nation to poverty. The new BABY BOOMI' is on! I-IILL STREET BLUES SOARS TO TI-IE TGP! US Festival: Biggest con- cert since Woodstock. Show your legs with the mini craze. Unemployment: On the rise! Man holds Washington Monument Hostage in protest of nuclear war. ANOREXIA! The starving disease is turning into an epide- mic. Americans girls are in the thin craze but they are going over board. Doctors are seeing more cases of'Anorexia and its destruction. It spreads like a disease usually resulting in death or the deterioration of health. Today's America is facing many stresses and its effect is shown in the fad of being thin. Hopefully we can cure this disease as we cure today's problems. I2
