It is a vocational student organization that provides student experience in marketing, management, and distribution. There is a class called MDE fMarketing and Distributive Educationj for juniors and seniors that is associated directly with the DECA class. DECA has a gift shop where students can buy small gifts, they sell popcorn and pretzels to a hungry lunch crowd, and they have numerous raffles throughout the year. All the profits go towards student activities. DECA also has local and state competitions and Mr. White is always eager to boast that Brashear has the most trophies of the city high schools. lining- Darnell Harper learns the basic functions of a cash register. -. - .-efgii'-1:'2 Row 1: L. There are about zoo students in- volved which were divided into four groups, due to the large number of people. The job these students have is important. They serve as models for the rest of the school. They try to end the problems that have plagued our school. These include vandalism and fight- ing. They show communication between the staff and students. One job of Student Secu- rity is to help when tragedy strikes. This is done by raising money or collecting goods for those stricken.
