Y a V -Q -- sv, H . . reshman Steering Committee he Freshman Steering Committee is a new group in our school. They are doing a fine job. They are headed by Ms. Pugliano. This committee talces on many charitable works. To the left is a picture of some of the stuffed toys they made. After being made, they were donated to the families of unemployed steel workers. This served as a great help around the Christmas season, another fund raiser during the Christmas season was their candy cane sale. They gave the students an opportunity to send a candy cane to a friend. This was an original idea. Monthly awards are also given to Freshman who have good citizenship and perfect attendance. This is an encouragement to all of the freshman to do better and it helps keep their attendance good. This committee also helps the freshman in- volve themselves more in school activities. It also shows them what they are capable of because they are trying things they have never done before. This is a new experience for our ninth graders. The various projects they do are helpful and rewarding ones to say the least. They are helping many people and getting a feeling of accom- plishment. Good work Freshman! '31 v Qaaswsav X ow 1 C. Mrs. Jones keeps the club operating and handles most of the work. The Steering Committee raises money and organizes out- ings. This year to raise money, Senior Steering Com- mittee members sold refreshments at Brashear football games, sold flowers to the students and faculty, and collected aluminum cans as well as many other fund raising events. The Committee is comprised of selected seniors who are chosen to represent their homerooms. Among other activities, Senior Steering Committee went on a skating and bowling outing and a ski trip. Any money left over after their outings goes towards paying for the buses for the annual Senior Cedar Point outing. 116 Row 1: S. Moeslein, L. Cusick. Row 2: G. Bell, L. Broadus, D. Raymond, A.
