Pizza, potato chips, pretzels and candy. At the mention of these treats most peoples mouth's start watering and they run to the nearest vending machine or candy store. All of these snacks are notoriously known as junk food. What exactly is junk food? It is what many of us grab when we are in a rush, watching the television, or when we are just too lazy to cook a wholesome meal. Even when shopping the temptation is there to buy snacks that are in every mall. Although we treat ourselves to these foods at times, many people thrive on these high cal treats. Instead of picking up a piece of fruit or cheese, they pull out the chips and dip. To those who can resist those goodies, more pow- er to you! What do Dravo Tower, One Oxford Center and major traffic jams mean to you? The answer is Renaissance II. The renovation of downtown Pittsburgh is a major project, but a worthwhile one. Other buildings included in this makeover are Comstock, PPG Place and the National Steel Center. Pittsburgh is the third biggest corporate center in the na- tion and is still growing which brings a need for more office space. This also means more jobs will be available and that the downtown retail area will also benefit, with so many people coming and going. There is alot of inconvenience, however. Buses are being rer- outed and the 480 million dollar subway sys- tem causes many traffic jams, due to so many streets being closed. There is a bright side to this madness, the results will show us a brighter and more productive Pittsburgh. III
