' w 2 J A f F j ie i i S A F On August '31, 1943, forty-three nervous boys and girls walked 3 hesitatingly into the Brashear High School wondering Just what this f f, new school life would be like. We were very timid, green creatures ! who became exceedingly embarrassed and blushed furiously if anyone if even glanced at us. The Sophomores put us through the works on , gl! I' initiation day and gave us a party that night. We later gave them a 1 Y return party. 'V g S 4 After three months of play, thirty-four of us came back and we w ,Y started our Sophomore year a much gayer and intelligent group. We had f- a fine time initiating and giving advice to the Freshmen. During the ' I' year nine dropped and three more enrolled. ' , y' We were sorry to find that five former members were not back with . fl us to face the problems we met as Juniors. We did our best to show V, , H 1 ' 'S the Seniors that we Juniors knew almost as much as they did. Some of 13, 1 the happiest days of our lives were when we presented our Junior play ' ' fx Mumba-Jumbo and Junior skip-day. The basketball team, with three. , V , J K Juniors, went to regional. Our annual treak to St. Louis made us feel A , g that the year was a complete success. :T , K Last of all came our Senior year. By this time our class had ,V I 5 5 dwindled down to twenty-three. One of our classmates, Bud Hunter, was J AM i IAA, gg. elected president of the Student Council. Another member,Bill Traylor g - ' ff N won Scholastic honors by making one of the highest grades in the state fx: , on the Pepsi-Cola Scholarship Test. TM d'd' 'J fd' Prom, our Play, Baccalaureate and Commencement, the Trip and ever so e f em- ' , many other happy days that we vowed never to forget. 1' E I, K In some ways we are glad this is our last year--but we hate to If ,j ' Il' leave our old school building and our beloved schoolmates who are -. 1 striving to accomplish a high school record such as we have completed.
