Our chief want in life is somebody who shall make us do what we can. This is the service of a friend. It is also a challenge to keep me interested in this task. Therefore, many students know me for my somewhat crazy classroom teaching techniques. Teaching at Brantley County is truly enjoyable because my students and I can get along well, having fun as well as learning. It's easy to be myself here and enjoy teaching because our students are respectful, friendly, and eager to participate. We also have a good faculty, and being with colleagues I enjoy has also meant a lot to me. Ms. Langford This year has been one of the most enjoyable years I've had at BCHS. The students I teach contribute significantly to this enjoyment. I have also liked working in the capacity of Qj C registrar. It was an experience no one could understand of imagine without having been part of it. GHP was held at Wesleyan College in Macon. About 408 students from all over the state attended. When I got to GHP I ddn't know anyone. In four days I had made several friends. After six weeks I had many close friends. Most of the students were nice and we didn't have trouble making friends. GHP offered new and exciting experiences. For the first time in my life I washed and dried my clothes. I never appreciated home cooked meals, clean clothes, and friends until I was away from them or had to wash them myself for those six weeks. I wrote my family and friends a lot and waited for them to write me with news from home. My entrepreneurship class visited the World Congress Center, WMAZ (radio and television station), Merrill Lynch Stock Brokers, and Warner Robins AFB. We had several speakers, such as stock brokers, lawyers, and bankers. They spoke to us on business and their job duties. Mr. Charles McDaniel, State School Superintendent, and one of President Carter's speech writers spoke to all of the students. GHP was fun and exciting. The experience I shared, the people I met, and close friends I made have enchanged my life. I will always have fond memories of a super and unique summer. 88 Alisa Altman Old and Mew Faces xcito cnt and activity, and i tir of shorinn. r 'zrX : ■ 'j ■ V V. DENISE SEARS I will always remember the friendly teachers and the friendly people. But, what I will always remember is walking down the halls with Daniel Herrin. MATT BROOKER I will remember all the times that I played football. The classes (especially Coach Fields). And I will especially remember the nice women I met and finally all my Senior friends that I went to school with. RACHEAL SPENCER I'll always remember the 5 laps contributed to me by Mrs. Jane Hinsley and all my friends that made it possible. And I'll never forget the great friends from drama class. And last but not least I'll never forget the time that Lynn Strickland made me eat 6 rolls in the lunch room one day. DEBBIE DEAN I will always remember the cheering days that I've had in the past few years and all my friends. But I will never forget the times that Valerie and I would go to the store at lunch and no one would ever know. Boy, was that fun! DAVID LEWIS I will always remember the nice women that is all of them. All my favorite teachers which are Mr. McGee, Mr. Wiley, Mrs. Sutton, and Mrs. Boyett. The boring dances and especially our fine basketball season this year. And I will always remember Coach Allen. Friend? What do you think should be in the Yearbook? A friend is someone who will give you a comforting word when you need it most. I think that there should be pictures of all the people in the school and not just a few. A lot of pictures showing people in humorous ways. In sports, most of the interest is in football and more needs to be put on track and baseball. Neal Stevens What do you think should be in the yearbook? I think that there should be a lot of snaps of people who are caught unaware, so that the picture will be natural and not posed. We need all people in it. We don't want just seniors or juniors. Put in some snaps of funny situ- ations and some of the teams who represent the school. a 3 tV l O ft? 5 Howard Bare The yearbook should cover everyday events including sports; Basketball, track, tennis, football, and Golf. It should also give special recognition to the students and teachers who compose and prepare the Yearbook. The Yearbook should be special to the students because it is the only means of remem- brance of your High School years. Craig Johns A friend is someone who likes you for yourself. Pass it on. ’Twas not given for thee alone, Pass it on. I art it travel down the years, Ut it wipe another’s tears, ’Till in hcav’n the deed appears— Pass it on. Did you hear the loving word? Pass it on— Like the singing of a bird? Pass it on. Let its music live and grow, Let it cheer another’s woe; You have reaped what others sow— Pass it on. ’Twas the sunshine of a smile— Pass it on. Staying but a little while! Pass it on. April beam a little thing, Still it w-akes the flowers of spring, Makes the silent birds o sing— Pass it on. Have you found the heavenly light? Pass it on. Souls are groping in the night, Daylight gone— Hold thy lighted lamp on high, Be a star in someone’s sky, He may live who else would die— Pass it on. Be not selfish in thy greed, Pass it on. I.ook upon thy brother’s need, Pass it on. Live for self, you live in vain; Live for Christ, you live again; Live for Him, with Him you reign- Pass it on. Henry Burton, 840- 930 THERE'S MORE We only see a little of the ocean, A few miles distance from the rocky shore; But oh! out there beyond-beyond the eyes' horizon There's more-there's more. We only see a little of God's loving, A few rich treasures from his mighty store; But oh! out there beyond-beyond our life's horizon There's more-there's more. Nahunta Baptist Church Pastor Jerry Jarrell Hickox Baptist Church Pastor Derrell Rentz 1898. SHED NOT TOO MANY TEARS Shed not too many tears when I shall leave; jN MEMORY OF Be brave enough to smile. It will not shorten, howsoe'er you grieve, DR jackSON DAVIS Your loneliness the while. I would not have you sorrowful and sad, But joyfully recall The glorious companionship we've had, And thank God for it all. Don't let your face grow tear-streaked, pale and wan: Have heart for mirth and song— Rejoice, though for a little while I've gone, That I was here so long. For if I thought your faith would fail you so, And leave you so distressed, That sobbing to my body's grave you'd go, My spirit could not rest. AUTHOR UNKNOWN BIG TIMES! I would like to take this time to thank all those who made this yearbook a success. To a wonderful staff, editor the best, co-advisors that cared and to you the student body for being a tremendous active element. A special thanks to David Patton for taking the time to help. I hope you find it to your pleasure, I'm sure you can find fault, I only tried, and needed about 6 more years to finish what we started out. May the years ahead hold peace and good fortune for you and may God guide and protect all who have shared in making this a good year at B.C.H.S. Thanks 1
