'72 HERON EDITOR: KAREN HENDRIX CO-EDITOR: CHERRY THOMAS ADVISORS: MR. JOHNC. HERNDON MRS. SHERRILLE COMPAIN MR. ANGEL COMPAIN Foreword: In order for a school to survive it must have a faculty, clubs, and organizations, organized classes, an atheletic department, and a good student body. But the most important aspect of a school is its SPIRIT. Without spirit, the school and the people who make it up would be meaningless. The students of Brantley County High School have the spirit it takes to make a school a success. A great sense of pride and happiness in all activities that take place here. They are interested in what is going on and take a part in it. This year has been a year full of spirit. Our only hope is that this sense of pride, happiness, and accomplishment continues to grow ever stronger as the students try to make Brantley County High a greater school. BRUNSWICK GEORGIA BRUNSWICK GEORGIA 148 At the beginning of the year, being chosen edi- tor of the '72 Heron was an exciting honor, but as time passed the excitement turned to worrying about the responsibility. I thought everyone was really prepa pared to do their part in completing this yearbook, but only a few of the staff carried their jobs to the end. I found that completing a yearbook took more than four or five students working together--but that is how this yearbook of yours was produced. I have learned that when you become editor of an annual there is a great deal of responsibility placed upon you. It sometimes creates a sense of defeat and a feeling that you will be blamed when someone finds fault or has a complaint. I hope that each of you will realize what the staff has been through and keep your complaints to yourself. I hope you will feel that the effort put forth by the annual staff to make this yearbook possible was well worth it. % EDITOR - KAREN HENDRIX BRUNSWICK GEORGIA COMPLIMENTS OF UNION CAMP BUILDING PRODUCTS DIVISION 150 FOLKSTON GEORGIA COMPLIMENTS OF JOE FULFORD PECAN COMPANY ALL PECANS AND PECAN PRODUCTS—WHOLESALE AND RETAIL NAHUNTA GEORGIA 31553 COMPLIMENTS OF BRANTLEY TELEPHONE COMPANY OWNED BY AVERY STRICKLAND 151 NAHUNTA GEORGIA BUSINESS MANAGER Brenda Johns SPONSORS: Mrs. Compain Mr. Compain Mr. Herndon AD SALESMEN LAYOUT ANNUAL STAFF STAFF r V V f M LAYOUT MANAGERS Kathy Middleton, Mary Robinson SUBSCRIPTION SALESMEN COMPLIMENTS OF CITY DRUGS rruhji tJ' 1 ' .
