Commencement exercises were held in the high school auditorium on May 17, 1956, with 57 seniors graduating. The Salutatory was given by Joy Mc- Cracken, who spoke on Maturity . Thelia Buck gave the Valedictory and spoke on Love , The principal address was given by the Honorable Dewey Short, Missouri representative to Congress. I-Ie spoke on the four qualities necessary to success: integrity, industry, thrift, and courage. Besides diplomas,many ofthe graduates received awards and scholarships. Joy McCracken, Salutato- rian.
