BUCCAN EER BALL Helen Robinson, 1954-55 Queen. Judy Coday, Buccaneer Queeng 1955-56. Crowned by Jim Castle. The Queen and her attendants. Who will be Queen this year?? In a flower garden under a rainbow sky of yellow and green tints, Judy Coday was crowned Queen of the Buccaneer Ball, May ll, 1956, by Jim Castle, re- presentative of the Paramount Film Distributing Corporation at St. Louis. Wearing the crown of white mums,Judy ascended to the throne to begin her reign. Her princesses were Virginia West- moreland, a freshmang Beverly Watts, a sophomo-reg and Wilda Laughridge, a senior. The decorations which trans- formed the high school gym into a flower garden were taken from George Goble's latest movie, The Birds and the Bees. The entrance was through a beehive and the bandstand was a bird house. Birds flew across the walls and both birds and bees nested in the girls' corsages. George Gobel picked the Queen from pictures sentto him. He had planned to attend the ball, but during the few weeks before the ball, his schedule was altered so that he could not be here. Jim Castle came in his place and had the pleasure of crowning the beautiful Queen. This page sponsored by CHANEY HOLMAN GAS CO.
